Over the last day there has been some confusion over the signing of Minor Leaguers. This was a confusion on my part, quite frankly an inexcusable one.
This was a rule I was torn on when i started the league, at first I wanted to do the rule where you sign a minor leaguer, and you pay him the AAS that you won him as until he reaches prospect status, and then it goes to real life arbitration, HOWEVER, i DID NOT do that, and i ended up putting the rule as the winning AAS is what you pay the minor leaguer until he exausts all his Prospect Status (6 yrs) and becomes a FA.
Somewhere along the line, not sure how, but i forgot that, and quite frankly did not even realize it until Kevin pointed it out yesterday.
This IS the rule, if you won (Bryan Villareal for 600,000), you would pay Villareal 600k for 6 years until he becomes a FA).
For anyone that I confused, because I know I told some people the wrong information, I apologize, and I am allowing Free Drops for anyone that was misinterpreted on this rule and does not wish to keep certain minor leaguers due to this error.
So here is the deal.
You can drop only Minor Leaguers, by next Sunday- April 24th, that you do not wish to keep due to this new information, that you may not have known about.
After Sunday, April 24th, there will be no more free drops for these minor leaguers. These are free drops in that you loose their full salary, you do not have to pay half for 2011. This will not count as a release to penalize you, meaning if you do drop a minor leaguer, you can rebid on them, and you will not have to wait a year according to the player release rule.
If you DO decide to drop a Minor Leaguer, please when you post his name in the Player Release Section, state this is a Free Drop granted by the Commissioner
Thank You, again, I appologize, and thank kevin for pointing this out for me.
