There will probably be about 5 open teams when all is said and done as a few guys have chosen to not even respond to me even though they did want to keep doing the league as of last week. Don't ask me...!
But yeah it's looking like Astros Orioles Pirates White Sox Royals
Will all be open teams. Personally I think we throw them into a draft
We then must discuss salary cap - I'd give a 1-2 week leniency on cap and force a team to have to get under the cap within that time frame...
Let me know what you guys think, open to suggestions

Definitely keep the teams. This is supposed to be an MLB league we need all of the teams. Until we find new owners, they should be run by the commish's office but only for setting lineups. They don't need to be trading.

IMO if you don't have all the MLB teams the hole concept of this league is ruined. I mean how would you even out the divisions? Astros and pirates are in same divison so that division would end up with Brewers/Reds/Cards and Cubs? Thats not real baseball. Just my opinion though league vote rules and I live with whatever is decided.

Oh don't get me wrong - I am hoping to fill the teams
This is more if I am unable to do so. I reached out to the ESPN board last night as well as some other leads I had - so we'll see if anyone's interested
It is not the Os, Astros, White Sox I am worried about - those teams have some good pieces. It is the Royals and Pirates I'm slightly worried about.. And to scrap those two teams would not be a major deal (AL Central would move to 4 teams, NL Central would move to 5 teams, AL would go to 13teams, NL to 15 teams).
IMO wouldn't be a HUGE deal to do that and we'd still have the league setup the same as far as the Divisions, playoff seeds, etc.
This is all speculation. If we for some reason cannot fill ANY Of the 5 teams, then we might have to think more about it which is what this vote is for

I voted for keep vacant because I think we should wait until we fill all the teams. I would've voted for run by the commish but I didn't think Brian would want to manage 6 teams.

I'm not sure if you can add mods on CBS but I would be will to help set the weekly lineup for the teams that don't get filled... I think that would be a fair way of doing things....

Thanks Sol - since the vote is looking to be fairly unanimous as to what people want to see, that might end up being something I need some help with (keeping those rosters active and current).
I will keep you in mind if we move to that - I will have my hands full for sure if the league needs to run up to 5 teams

i think only one base lineup be set so there is no possibility of someone tampering with lineups. The Commish can set one lineup and that should be it. then just wait till the teams are filled and new owner can set a regular lineup. Only time they should be adjusted is for injury purposes.

Agreed. They don't need daily lineup changes.

I agree to an extent, but the last thing I want continuing is teams getting wins handed to them. If that is the case, I'd rather scrap those teams ya know?
It's a fine line we're trying to walk. I'm more trying to fill a couple of them and then our problem would be solved

There is 1 team left...
Orioles
Royals Astros
Pirates
I've been trying to recruit on the ESPN boards - anybody else have any ideas? It's free entry this year since original owners would have already paid the old commish

Royals have been filled - we have a new member JJ who will be joining us later today
Only the Astros (and Mike Stanton) are available now - I've heard from a few people who were interested and contacted them back... we'll see if anyone wants to take that team and then we'll be good to go!
