Effective tomorrow 6/13/11: - the 3 open teams -- Royals, Pirates, and Astros -- will be officially taken over by the League Office. These teams will not be making offers, but will be fielding them as they come in. Same trade review process holds for these teams as all others (see next... ) - my team, the Rangers, will not be making any moves with these teams.
- the trade review process will involve a time-tiered league vote: after both owners have confirmed the trade in the trading review area, a poll will be started. After 2 full days, if less than 50% of the voters have approved the trade AND there have been more than 5 votes, the poll will remain open for another 3 full days and the Commissioner will reach out to the people who have not yet voted. At that point, if less than 50% of the voters have approved, the trade is vetoed. If after 2 full days or after 5 full days, more than 50% of the voters have approved, the trade is passed.
- both of these moves are temporary; the open teams will only be run by the League Office until replacements are found, and the trade review process still needs 10 more people to vote. If at that point the vote has changed, the trade review process will be adjusted accordingly

Wow.. we have to wait a WEEK to get a trade approved? And the teams arent gonna get daily lineup changes correct? Just one base lineup.

I'm hoping that most trades will be approved by a majority of the league in the first 3 days... unless there is collusion I don't see why trades should be vetoed ever - and since I can see IPs I would know if enough trades between the same teams went through
But the league has spoken.. or at least of the 17 who have spoken the League-wide vote was the opinion. Not sure how long those people thought a vote should last, but I only did it as a time-tiered vote to try and make it so most trades get passed quickly. Thought it was a happy medium

And the teams arent gonna get daily lineup changes correct? Just one base lineup. Incorrect. The League Office will be actively running these teams and trying to build them up so that they will become attractive again. That is the outcome of the vote so far - as with the Trading Process vote, if the outcome changes after the remaining owners vote, we will adjust them accordingly. Those 3 teams do not have enough bench pitchers or hitters to want to change the daily roster very much. It will mostly only be adjusted when a player goes to the DL (if there is another bench option).

I think it might be better to change it to 48 hours instead. Also, after this system gets used, I bet people change their minds because it takes too long. Lets see how it goes.

I agree that the time frame is a bit much. I have moved the tiers down to 2 days and 5 days. The hope is that mostly all trades will pass within 48 hours - I don't think the trade panel was moving faster than that.

I dont agree with the active ownership of inactive teams... if you want to move guys to get starts or if players hit the DL.. thats ok.. but signing FA and stuff like that should not be allowed... and only one person.. the commish should make changes...

Brian, why not adopt a 3 man panel to approve trades ONLY when 2 or more GM's complain to the commissioner's office within 24 hours of the trade being posted. They would need to send you an email or PM only. No YIM, AIM, posting in cbox, making a post here on the forum, or any other type of communication. That way you can easily get back to those in case you were wondering who did. If only 1 GM or 0 GM's complain in the first 24 hours, then the trade goes thru PERIOD and no questions asked. This is the system I will be using in my league once we open trading. This way, trades can go thru very quickly, the new players can be moved around in CBS, teams update their team pages more quickly, and the flow of information is more efficient. This is only an idea Brian, but I've seen it used very well in the past.

As for the dead teams, I might have a solution AND you have to do very little. Sign up here (it's free btw) and you will reach over 700 active members of various dynasty leagues. This is one way how I got my league filled. It is cheap I suppose to steal owners from there and perhaps owners from here will read this post and go join in there, but I figured this was a good idea as well. Let me know if you need any help with recruiting people. I happen to be quite good at it. I do not think that 2 days is very long to wait.

The Pirates sound like they are going to be filled - that would only leave two remaining teams.
